Gabby's Turn

12.23.09
I took Gabby this afternoon to get her ears pierced! She's at the perfect age where she isn't going to deliberately play with them and won't mind me cleaning them. She did beautifully! She cried for just a few seconds and then smiled at the end!!!! Such a good baby!! Connor, Cameron, Hannah, & Lily were so proud of her, and the girls are delighted that they're all so sparkly this Christmas. Merry early Christmas to my sweet little girls! How I love them :)

Dog pile on Daddy

Within one minute of him laying on the floor, it's "Dog Pile On Daddy!!!!!!!"

Lily's ear piercing

12.22.09
Well, Lily saw Hannah's beautiful pierced ears and wanted hers done too. The girls and I all headed out to pierce Lily's ears. Lily chose pearls, and Hannah, as only a big sister can, reassured her that it would be okay. Lily was excited & willing at first. After the first ear, she decided one earring was enough and looked just fine! It took some persuasion from mommy to get Lily to go through with the second ear. When it was all done, Lily asked to use my cell phone to call Daddy. When she got him on the line she said, "Daddy, I did it!" She was so proud of herself. She looks lovely and is doing well.

Hannah's Early Christmas Present

12.21.09
A little girl's rite of passage....
Today Hannah received one of her Christmas presents early...she got her ears pierced!! She was so brave. She never cried or even said ouch. She chose beautiful pink diamond studs. The last picture shown is Hannah preparing to have the first ear done. The second to last is the piercing in progress. After getting her ears pierced, I took Hannah out to lunch. She loves salad with grilled chicken! We had a fun mother & daughter luncheon and special day. Hannah is lovely and sparkles as brightly as our Christmas tree!

Thought of the day

Thought of the Day:

Elliptical machines are Irish.... "May the road rise up to meet you...."

All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth!

On Friday, Connor lost his bottom front tooth. Then on Sunday (yesterday), he lost a very cool tooth...one of his top front teeth. He is so excited to have an upstairs and downstairs window in his mouth! It's a cool rite of passage to lose that front top tooth...he was so excited to return to school this morning and show off this weekend's excitement. My little boy is growing up so fast! (sniffle, sniffle...)

Playing in the leaves

Early November the children begged to go outdoors and play in the leaves. They had such fun! All they needed was a big lollipop as they jumped in to be a scene straight out of Peanuts...where Linus says, "never jump in a pile of leaves with a wet sucker!" I couldn't resist grabbing my camera...

Thanksgiving 2009

We spent Thanksgiving afternoon and dinner at a friend's house, then ate another Thanksgiving meal in our own home on friday. These were taken the day after Thanksgiving at our own home. The children are toasting what they are thankful for. Gabby tasted a tiny bit of homemade cranberry sauce on the tip of my finger and loved it!!! She wanted more!

Blueberry Planting

Over Thanksgiving weekend, Dan and the children planted 3 blueberry bushes. The local pumpkin & strawberry farm decided to get out of the blueberry business and sell all their mature bushes at rock bottom prices. Lucky for us!

Choosing a tree

We bought our Christmas tree this weekend. It was a very cold (for GA) and windy day, so we decided to search locally for one that was already cut. The children had fun looking at all of them and the smell was divine. Gabby was in the stroller snoozing and I, as usual, was behind the camera.
