Spring is here!

Today was another warm, upper 60's day. I turned off the central air and opened the house up to a cross breeze. It was wonderful! I took a break in my to-do list when Gabby tried opening the door to the backyard and pointed to the swing set. We went outside, looked at buds swelling on tree branches, and then I pushed her on the swing for a little while. She loves her swing! Look at that smile....can you tell? :)

Future Student

These pictures were taken just today right before lunch. Gabby has been exploring the new kitchen desk. She loves to get into the pens and other things on the top. I may have to move the phone though...I think she tried calling Ireland! She held the pen well...she'll be a natural when she's ready to begin practicing her letters. She loves to be a "big girl"!

Kitchen desk

My honey remembered that I love green, purple, blues and pinks when he gave me flowers for Valentine's Day!
We just had our new kitchen desk finished! The granite was installed yesterday. It offers lots of new cabinet and desktop space and will be an ideal location to seat a child for help with homework, since I practically live in the kitchen.

A built-in wine rack is a bonus!

With flowers, pencil sharpener, and water fountain, the desk already looks like it is where it belongs.

Our 18 month old darlin'!

I took these pictures of Gabby this morning (2.16.11). She was doing her "crinkle nose" smile at me so I grabbed the camera! She's such a sweet baby. She weighed only 20 lbs, 8oz at her recent 18 month well visit, but is nearly 3 feet tall (33")! I show her 3 boxes of snacks, usually Cheerios, Cheez-Its, & Wheat Thins. She puts one box back in the pantry, then puts another back. She carries the last box over to the kitchen counter where her snack cup is....she's made her choice! She's so smart, and is fairly good about putting things back. She's our darling baby girl!

5 months pregnant

I'm 20 weeks pregnant this week! Wow...it's flying by way too fast. I had my 5 month doctor's appointment yesterday (2.3.11) and our baby is doing great. The heart rate has remained in the 140's and our baby is always active. The nurse has a tough time catching up with the location of baby's heartbeat! I'm doing great, too. I am with a new doctor with this pregnancy. I really like the doctor who delivered Gabby, but since I want a natural, no- meds delivery, I had to change physicians. My new doctor is terrific and fully supportive of my wishes. We're on the same page on all levels, which feels good. He asked a bit about my personal background yesterday, like where I'm from and how we ended up in GA. At the end of the visit, he commented, "You're definitely from CA!" He lived in Northern CA awhile, and I'm from Southern CA. I'm still not sure exactly what he meant, but he said it with a smile. This is the second time in the past several years that I've been told you can tell I'm from CA. Now I'm curious! :)
Dan and I are having fun pondering baby names. There are so many beautiful ones to choose from! You'd think we'd have run through all of our "best" ones, but that's not the case. We always find more we love. I guess that means we're all set for the next 6! :) The children still hug and kiss my tummy and are excited about our baby. It's a wonderful time, and we're so happy & blessed! Stay tuned...
